Thanks for nestling in for A Deep Sleep.
I'm BK, a young adult (YA) literature advocate and MS/LIS graduate student with The iSchool at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (USA). The content of this blog was inspired by a project for a master class, INFO 684: Resources for Young Adults. I read and analyzed all of the books featured, and then gathered together what I hope are helpful and thought-provoking resources for you, the YA reader. In addition, I spoke with teenage YA enthusiasts much like yourself to find out what they think. You'll see their ideas and words about YA literature highlighted throughout the blog.
My main interest is in realistic fiction dealing with urban, multicultural, and sociopolitical themes. I'm amazed at how so much YA literature captures and influences our real-life social history (it's no accident that every book on this blog is tagged as "Social History"). For more information on this topic, visit my coursework Pathfinder Resource, Pennsylvania Social History.
Make yourself at home here, and settle in for a deep read. If you have any questions, suggestions, or other thoughts to share, feel free to comment on any of my posts. I'll be sure to get back in touch.
I'm also looking for tips on other YA books to check out, so let me know what's good...
